"The Plough" (Big Dipper)

Probably the most recognised pattern in the heavens, "The plough" also known as the "Big Dipper" resembles a distinctive saucepan shape. Part of the Ursa Major constellation (The Great Bear) this part of the sky never sets below the horizon as it is close to the Northern celestial pole. Unknown to many non-astronomy go'ers the plough is an excellent pointer to finding the pole star.
