June Observing Report

There is no true darkness all through June so no deep sky viewing at all. Actually the telescope has not even been out all month partly due to torrential rain and lots of cloud. On top of that the back garden as it's being landscaped! Best time of the year to give the scope a rest.

There was some naked eye viewing though. The ISS was visible for 2 weeks along with a shuttle mission STS-117 which attached another truss and set of solar arrays to the space station. On viewing the ISS now seems to reach magnitude -2.5 or even -3 !

What can i say.. roll on August!
