This eclipse was a very brief encounter for the UK. Happening right on Moonrise I was very fortunate to have a clear Eastern horizon. By the time the moon was on it's way up the sky, it ws all over. An eclipse at moonrise is always a wonderful sight, I only wish I took the opportunity to take a photo of it against a background landscape or tree or something! hmmm when is the next eclipse at moonrise?...

Partial(UK) Solar Eclipse - 29th March 2006

This was viewed as a Total Solar eclipse in Countries at more Southern latitudes than the UK. One of the best places to view it was from Turkey. Here conditions were excellent for totality. However from the UK, only a small partial eclipse of the sun could be seen. A live webcast was successfully shown from mattastro.com and will be a useful experience for me when attempting future webcasts on this site.
